Andrew Luck Historic Signing of Contract Extension with the Colts

Luck will remain a Colt until 2021.

The 2015 season was not the best for Andrew Luck, quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, however, a new contract with the franchise that selected him as number one overall pick in 2012 was imminent, and finally has arrived, imposing several brands economic level.

Jim Irsay (team owner) announced it reached an agreement with Luck to extend its ligamen until 2021 , ie six years. The deal rises to $ 140 million (record), with $ 87 million guaranteed (record), receiving $ 75 million during the first three years .

Last year he struggled with kidney problems, so only played seven games. His absence caused the Colts cede the Division championship(AFC South) against the Houston Texans and did not reach to the playoffs.

At the individual level, it has been selected for the Pro Bowl three times (2012-2014) and led the entire league in terms touchdown passes in 2014 with 40. In 2012 he lost the award for Rookie of the Year to Robert Griffin III, at that time a member of the Washington Redskins, a decision with which many disagreed.
